# About Swymble

Software Engineer · Entrepreneur · Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Software engineer. I work on backend systems, APIs and AI platforms, the kind that handle real volume and are not allowed to quietly get it wrong.

Swymble is my studio and my lab: client builds, my own products, and whatever I wanted to find out whether I could make work.

## Engineering

I build backend systems and APIs: workflow engines, batch pipelines, integrations between things that were never designed to talk to each other, and the authorisation logic around them. Most of that experience came from enterprise platforms where the data is money-critical, the audit trail matters and downtime has an SLA attached. I have led change delivery end to end, from requirements through design, build, UAT and production deploy, and spent plenty of time on the incident side of it too.

## Studio

Swymble takes client work: company profiles, product builds and AI-powered systems, delivered solo end to end. Scoping, UI/UX, implementation, deploy, and the support afterwards. What started as one client turned into an ongoing consulting engagement, which is roughly how I like it to go.

## Lab

The rest is R&D. Cortex, an AI platform with persistent memory and a hybrid retrieval architecture over pgvector and Redis, plus a multi-provider LLM gateway with failover. MyDompet, an offline-first money tracker that keeps every transaction on your own phone. What2Watch, a force-directed voronoi wall of films. MyBirth, a cinematic birth archive. And one deliberately pointless masterpiece that is exactly what its name says.

## Frequently asked

### What is Swymble?

Swymble is a one-person software studio and engineering lab based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It builds websites, apps and AI systems for businesses as client work, and develops its own experimental products under the name Swymble Labs.

### Is Swymble a company or a person?

Swymble is a solo studio. One software engineer does the work end to end — scoping, design, implementation, deployment and support — operating under the Swymble name rather than as an agency with a team behind it.

### What does Swymble build for clients?

Swymble builds company profile websites, product builds, and AI-powered systems. Each project is delivered solo from scoping and UI/UX through implementation, deployment and the support afterwards, using the engineering practices the same engineer applies to enterprise fintech platforms.

### What is Swymble Labs?

Swymble Labs is the research and development side of Swymble: independent products built outside client work. It currently includes Cortex, an AI platform with persistent long-context memory; MyDompet, an offline-first money tracker for Android and iOS; Territory, a fitness app that turns movement into map territory; MyBirth, an archive of the day you were born; what2watch, an interactive wall of films and shows; and Watch Paint Dry, a deliberately pointless relaxation toy. Each has its own page at swymble.com/labs.

### Who runs Swymble?

Swymble is run by a software engineer working on backend systems, APIs and AI platforms — workflow engines, batch pipelines, and integrations between systems that were never designed to talk to each other. That work has mostly been on enterprise fintech platforms where the data is money-critical and downtime has an SLA attached.

### Where is Swymble based?

Swymble is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and works with clients remotely.
